Construction Accident in Georgia Under OSHA Investigation

Date: August 4, 2011By: Atlanta Construction Accident Lawyers

A construction accident in Georgia is currently under investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration after a worker fell from a ladder while working at a site at the College of Coastal Georgia, reports The Miami Herald.  According to the Glynn County coroner, the autopsy revealed that 32-year-old construction worker John Thomas Orr may have suffered an electric shock prior to the fall.

Electrical accidents account for the death of nearly 400 construction workers every year.  By law, workers are entitled to a safe working environment, but unfortunately, not every construction site meets these safety regulations.  In such cases, construction workers are often forced to work in unnecessarily dangerous conditions that pose a risk of injury or death.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a construction accident, you may suffer a number of damages as a result of your construction site injury.  You may be out of work for considerable periods of time, or you may not be able to return to work at all, depending on the severity of the injury.  During this time, medical expenses can become overwhelming.  However, if the construction accident injury was the result of another’s negligence, you may be entitled to compensation for the costs of long-term care, lost wages, and even pain and suffering damages. To find out if you have legal recourse to seek compensation for damages, contact our Atlanta construction accident attorneys today for a no obligation review of your claim.
